Loss & Grief
The Last Time
The day Avery died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Avery was my sister. We laughed until we cried. I remember their cooking like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Avery when I visit a rooftop. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
