Letting Go of Home

The day Dakota died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Dakota was my brother. We thought it would last forever. I remember their advice like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Dakota when I visit a small cafe. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
