Finding Home

The day Alex died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Alex was my sister. I learned so much from that experience. I remember the way they said my name like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Alex when I visit a library. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
