Loss & Grief
Before and After
The day Finley died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Finley was my mother. We were so young and stupid. I remember the way they said my name like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Finley when I visit a library. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
