My Sister's Story

The day Sam died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Sam was my father. We were so young and stupid. I remember how they laughed like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Sam when I visit a garden. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
