Finding Myself

The day Emerson died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Emerson was my grandfather. Everything felt perfect. I remember their cooking like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Emerson when I visit a small cafe. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
