Letting Go of Home

The day Sam died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Sam was my mother. It changed me forever. I remember the way they said my name like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Sam when I visit a concert. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
