Learning to Learned

The day Alex died, the world didn't stop. The sun still rose. Birds still sang. But my world collapsed. Alex was my mother. We were so young and stupid. I remember how they laughed like it was yesterday. Now I talk to Alex when I visit the beach. I know they can't hear me. But saying it out loud makes it feel real. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
