The Fear of Failure

I was offered a dream job. Six-figure salary, leading a team of twenty. And I was terrified I wasn't good enough.\n\nI almost turned it down. Had the rejection email drafted.\n\nBut I called my mentor, a woman in her sixties.\n\n"Everyone feels like a fraud sometimes. The difference is that successful people do it anyway."\n\n"Take the job. Make the leap. Fail if you have to. But don't let fear make your decisions."\n\nI took the job. The first six months were brutal. I made mistakes, had sleepless nights.\n\nBut I grew. I learned. I became the leader I was afraid I couldn't be.\n\nFear of failure is normal. Letting it control you is a choice. And I've chosen to stop letting fear make my decisions.
