Love & Heartbreak
The Dress in the Window
For three months, I walked past that boutique and stopped to look at the white dress in the window. Simple lace, A-line cut. Every time I saw it, I imagined walking down an aisle.\n\nThe problem was, there was no someone. Twenty-eight, single, terrified I'd never find love.\n\nOne evening, the dress was gone. Someone bought it.\n\nI stood there in the cold, crying over a dress I'd never tried on.\n\n"Excuse me, are you okay?" A delivery man holding a garment bag.\n\n"I'm fine. Just having a moment."\n\nHe smiled. "We all have those." He was delivering a tuxedo for a groom named David.\n\nA year later, I met someone. Not in a movie-perfect way — in a real way. And when I walked down the aisle, I wore a simple lace dress. Not the one from the window. But it was perfect.
